| This is where I am
supposed to tell you about myself, but where to start?
My fascination with jewellery and artwork goes back many years. My family travelled extensively across Canada and I was exposed to many different cultures and their art, particularly the northern communities. As I was growing up I experimented with the different styles of bead working, watercolours, sculptures and jewellery. I was fortunate to have a mother who delighted in my hobbies, and loved everything I made for her, proudly displaying my pictures and wearing every necklace I gave her. It wasn't until I had my own family that I discovered wire working, and fell in love with the concept of creating not only beautiful necklaces, but wearable art. |

I started researching wire wrapping, studying different artists like Mavis Llewellyn, and Preston Reuther. I checked out different websites and online stores, as well as craft fairs and exhibitions. I drove my friends and family crazy, stopping at every beading outlet, lapidary, metaphysical store and jewellery boutique I saw. That part hasn't changed much...I still check out rock and gem stores with great regularity, but at least now I do my best not to drag them with me!
I enjoy the beauty of art, (like most women, pretty shiny things!) and when I work with gold and silver wire, I feel truly inspired to create something that captures the essence of that beauty. If it doesn't 'flow' it doesn't 'show'!
Every pendant and pair of earrings is unique. I never know how it will look until I'm finished. I truly hope you like wearing my pieces as much as I did making them.
